With summer gone it is easy to assume that children are going to want to stay inside in the warm. However, if you’re kids are anything like mine the cold weather doesn’t put them off of having fun. In fact, this time of year when it’s fresh but still bright seems to get them wanting to play outside all the time – and it’s something I like to encourage. After all, with all the best will in the world when it’s full of snow and ice trips to the park are definitely going to be less often – even if your kid doesn’t agree!

Encouraging Outdoor Play

We all love a bit of screen time and my kids enjoy electronics as much as any other, but I do like to encourage us to get outside as a family whenever we can. There’s something nice about a day out in the fresh air with the kids running around having fun – and it definitely means that we all sleep much better after burning off all that energy.
