As my husband mentioned over on his blog, we really went all out on making sure that Cameo’s Christmas gifts were themed. We got him a play kitchen, trolley, cutting set and lots of other accessories to give him an authentic mini kitchen experience of his own. He spends lots of time now making us food, serving us tea and generally being a cutie.

But his gifts don’t stop on Christmas day. Cameo’s birthday falls less than a week after X-Mas, and it means that it isn’t long before we need to shower him with even more goodies. And I thought that we should sort of extend the theme.

We found lots of little things from Hello Baby that fit the bill. First was a little DeLonghi toy microwave, which comes with plastic food. He loves serving us up chicken and potato from there in the afternoon when I say that I’m making dinner for him in the actual kitchen. The microwave has a working turntable, LED lights and makes all the sounds you expect from a real microwave, so he’s really loves playing along.

The Casdon DeLonghi toy microwave is available to buy at Hello Baby £26.47.

The more toys we add to the front room, the more I realise that we’re in need of storage and order. It’s got to the point where we have to hide some of the boys’ toys in the garage because it won’t all fit in there. There’s that and the fact that Cameo doesn’t really tidy up after himself all that much, so I figured that the best way to get him onside to do it is to get him a vacuum cleaner.

*Cue the second toy*

Cameo’s now also got himself a ride-on Hetty, and he absolutely loves it. He’s been really into ride-on toys for some time (in fact his favourite Paw Patrol one has been doing him well for a little over a year). But this one means that he’s actually engaging with the idea of cleaning up after he’s made a mess. All the times he throws all his plastic food over the floor. All the times he throws his jigsaw pieces all over the front room. Just all the time really.

The Casdon Hetty Sit & Ride is available to buy at Hello Baby and costs £23.58.

We’re hoping that Cameo and Marlo will learn to play with them together peacefully soon. Until then, they’re just going to have to keep taking it in turns to either hoover up or get the microwaving pinging.
