44 Cats is the animated series which has really taken off over the last few months, in our house anyway! It’s a fun children’s TV series which follows the adventures of four cool kittens who are in a musical band called The Buffycats. of Lampo, Milady, Pilou and Meatball are the main characters and they transform Granny Pina’s garage into their very own super cool clubhouse. 44 Cats are originally Italian so there’s lots of emphasis on Italian life, which I really like. It’s something a little different compared to other cartoons and I love that the theme continues into the toys too.

We received a bundle of 44 Cats toys to review and the first thing Cameo wanted to open was the Club House Playset (available at The Entertainer). It’s a clubhouse replica and even included a mini bowl of toy spaghetti! All the other figures can hang out here and the boys love to move the figures around as if they’re having a little party. There are three Playsets to collect, we have the Pilou playset which is all set within her drum set. This themed set also includes a three-inch articulated Pilou figure, wearing exclusive clothing you won’t find anywhere else. It’s suitable for ages 3+ and is a great little set for nay 44 Cats fan. Cameo loves that there’s moving bits, so, for example, Pilou’s fans move and so does her mirror.

You can also buy separate mini-figures which are amazingly detailed. At approx 3 inches tall they’re perfect for little hands and there are 8 to collect. It’s one comes with their trademark accessory, so Meatball comes with his keyboard and Lampo, the lead singer comes with his guitar and microphone. They’re all a little flexible so you can move them around to hold their instruments or just to have great playtime with them.

Last but not least, are the lovely musical soft plush toys of the 44 Cats main characters. They’re available at Argos and are approx 8 inches tall. There are 4 to collect. You just squeeze their tummy and you can hear the original 44 Cats song from the show. The plush toys are super soft and great for any smaller toddlers, Marlo has already taken ownership of his! But Cameo also likes to play the song on the plush while he pretends the band are playing.

What we really love about the toys is how they make Cameo use his imagination. He starts creating little stories between them, gets them moving across the room and really gets into the characters. Any toys that help him build his imagination are fab in my book.

You can catch 44 Cats on Pop every day and you can purchase the toys here.
