What’s Your Road Trip Type?

We recently went to visit some friends of ours who have moved to a beautiful part of Scotland. They live in a gorgeous cottage, almost in the middle of nowhere. It meant a really lovely drive through mountains and winding hilly roads. I can’t say it was the most relaxing drive. I was a little scared driving on cliff edges, to be honest! I’m a city driver and the winding roads in the mountains actually gave me a little bit of vertigo. If we do any cliff edge roads again I definitely won’t be the driver! So one thing is for sure, I’m not a thrill seeker when it comes to road trips.

With a new baby on the way, we won’t be going on holiday abroad any time soon and we definitely want to do more visiting within the UK. It’s only when you do drives like we did to Scotland that you realise just how beautiful the UK is. I’m definitely a scenic person. We stopped several times on the five-hour drive to take pictures of the view. It really was breathtaking. If we went on more road trips it would definitely be a sightseeing kind of route.

If you’re thinking about heading off on some road trips TyrePlus have created this infographic about some of the best drives around Great Britain. The best thing for me about road trips these days are the memories that we make when we’re on them. Instead of getting somewhere as quick as possible, we have to take a break with our little one on board and this gives us time to explore. This picture of Baby C picking Daisies on a little pit stop when we drove to Scotland recently melts my heart.
