Create An Environment of Questioning 

Make your home feel like a space where questions are encouraged. If it feels like a palace where any and all kinds of questions can be asked, your child will feel more compelled to explore anything that they are curious about, from mundane everyday details to big ideas about life, the universe and everything. 

Surprise Them 

While structure is important to a child’s everyday life, little tweaks to what you’re doing in your day to day can help engage your child’s curiosity. Writing little notes and hiding them, or creating treasure hunt games that you surprise your child with will help give them a sense of excitement about what can happen in their day to day, making them more open to new ideas and adventures as they come along. 

Don’t Have An Answer? Learn Together!

Your child is bound to ask you a question that you may not know the answer to. Don’t just try to come up with an awkward side, show your child that you’re inquisitive too and look up the answer together. Exploring different subjects and learning more together can demonstrate how many tools are out there to fuel an inquisitive nature. It can also help forge shared interests between you and your child.

Travel The World 

Traveling to new places is a sure fire way to enrich an inquisitive mind. Going to new destinations and engaging with other cultures should spark a keen interest in your child about the world, when they see just how different and yet so similar life can be elsewhere. You don’t have to physically go anywhere to open up the world to your child. Watch nature and travel documentaries,cook food from across the globe to open up the world to your child. 

Let Your Kid Be A Kid 

Quite simply, let your kids be kids. Kids are curious by nature. They will seek out something that they don’t really understand. It is your job to allow them to feel encouraged to explore this natural curiosity, all the while ensuring they’re staying on a good path and have a sense of responsibility. And sometimes, they have to learn from the mistakes that they make when following their curiosity, that’s all part of growing up.
