My eldest is almost 4 and I can’t quite believe how quickly time has flown. From him just managing to pick up toy rattles to now playing full-on shop (with an imagination running wild) it’s just sped by. He is great at playing by himself but loves interaction from us when it comes to things like role play in shops and kitchens. Creative play is a good shout for him too but to be honest, I’m always surprised by the new things he does and likes. I feel like 4 years old is a tough age to buy gifts for. But on top of that, it’s finding the time to actually wrap them! Whether it’s Christmas or birthdays, it has to be a big secret mission for me to get his toys ready to open. But not anymore! Here are my top tips on getting your gifts wrapped for you.
Straight from the Shop

Somewhere like Wicked Uncle is the absolute epitome of an online best friend, they have categories of toys for specific ages, so you can’t go wrong when choosing a gift to begin with. From classic toys to unique gifts, there’s so much to choose from. It makes life so much easier, especially if you’re looking for a gift for a specific age. There’s a huge difference between the ability of a 2 year and a 4-year-old, or a 4-year-old and a 6-year-old, so Wicked Uncle help you pick the perfect gift. But what’s more, they do a great gift wrap service. Yes! You add the gift-wrapping at checkout and you even get to choose the design. It’s really affordable too. Imagine, not only do they help you choose a gift, but they wrap it AND deliver it. Could life get any easier?
Secure the Bag

I know presents look exciting when they’re wrapped up in colourful paper and you can’t beat the feeling of unwrapping a box. But you can still give a great gift and get a great gifting experience by popping your present in a cute gift bag. They look great, are easy to carry and means the gift is still a surprise until your recipient decides to have a little look inside. PLUS, they can be reused, so you’re being eco friendly too. Win-Win situation for everyone when you use a gift bag.
Ask the Parents

It might seem like the cheekiest idea, but firstly, asking parents what their 4-year-old would like as a gift can really solve all of your gifting worries! They’ll usually have a list as long as their arm of what their little one wants or needs and then at least you know you’re getting something useful. But, you could just drop off the present and the gift wrap and explain that you didn’t have time to do it, but the thought was there! I have to admit, this method does take a bit of courage, but I’ll guarantee most parents won’t even be bothered.
Social Media

This one isn’t about getting your gifts wrapped for you, but more about making gift wrapping so easy that you don’t mind doing it yourself. I guarantee if you look on social media for gift wrapping hacks, present wrapping tips or ways to wrap presents quickly, you’ll find a way to get your gifts looking great in no time. You’ll realise it didn’t need to be that hard all along, and you can actually do it yourself. Miracle!
So the key is to find what works for you, whether it’s a technique that you need help with or whether you just need to save time. Either way, always remember it’s the thought that counts!
