Don’t judge me but I already have my Christmas tree up! I know it’s early but if I’m honest, I’m totally here for the Christmas season. This year I’m all about good vibes, feeling merry and being generous. I want to make it the best Christmas yet because I feel like we’ve really missed out over the last couple of years. It’s not just me or my little ones that have missed out, but my mum has missed having a great Christmas with her grandsons, who are the absolutely apple of her eye. (She definitely loves them more than me, haha!). So, this year, I’m doing a little surprise, surprise, surprise and creating a Bag of Joy for my mum. It’s full of amazing Christmas gifts from Boots UK and I really can’t wait to see the look on her face… in person!

I feel like my mum has sacrificed a lot for me over the years, and now I’m a mum I appreciate her more than ever. The last 18 months have been tough on her, not being able to see us as much as usual and getting her head around technology so we can video call. Then there’s the babysitting while we get back into the swing of work, Cameo starting school and everyone trying to adapt to a slightly new way of life. She really does deserve the ultimate bag of joy on Christmas day.
My plan of action when it came to choosing her Christmas presents was to opt for things that were a real treat, things that I know she’d love but might feel guilty about buying for herself. (It’s funny how we can buy for others but struggle to treat ourselves isn’t it?!) Here’s what I’ll be letting her unwrap on Christmas morning. I am SO excited to see her face.

Me and my mum always have a giggle and say to each other “is it even Christmas if you don’t get a Soap & Glory gift set under the tree!’ So that had to be included in her Bag of Joy. There are so many Christmas Gifts for Her at Boots that there really is something for every personality. I’ve also chosen the Nails. Inc Manicure Treatment set because that’s such a ‘special treat’ type of gift, something she’ll love but would never buy herself! If you’re after gifts for the man in your life, don’t worry because there’s plenty of Christmas Gifts for Him too! There’s a huge selection, so you’ll find the perfect gift for that special person in your life.

I also decided to choose a few small Secret Santa types of gifts. I love a cute gift and there’s something about adding lots of small things to a Bag of Joy that reminds me of my Christmas stocking when I was little. The happiness I got from the small things was just as good as from the big things. The Chit Chat Bath Confetti is pure fun, it’s a perfect little add on Christmas gift. Plus, is any gift bag complete without a sweet treat or two? No way! Of course, I had to add in some Green & Blacks chocolate. I hope my mum appreciates the willpower it took not to eat a few squares before I wrapped it.

My mum really deserves this Bag of Joy and I can’t wait to really make this Christmas one of our best ever. Great food, company and of course, some amazing smiles when we open our gifts and spend the day together. Let’s bring on the joy, I’m ready!
Who are you going to be treating this year? Is there someone special in your life who you’ll be giving a Bag of Joy to?
