You might remember that last year I wrote all about Cameo’s eczema and how we now use Epaderm on a daily basis to help relieve the symptoms – especially on his little legs. It was part of an entry to win a competition to work with Epaderm going forward. Well, I’m over the moon to announce that we won and we are now the Epaderm Junior Ambassadors. Woohoo!
I should write that I am the Ambassador winner because I wrote the post but really, Cameo is the winner because he is the little bean who has to deal with his eczema every day. So going forward I’ll refer to ‘us’ as the Epaderm Junior Ambassador Winners. Teamwork makes the dream work as they say, but Cameo is the star!

Of course, I’m as intrigued as you are to know why I won. So here’s a couple of statements from the Epaderm team:
“We are pleased to announce that Hollie Burgess (Pretty Big Butterflies) has been chosen as our Epaderm Junior Ambassador for 2019. We chose Hollie for our Epaderm Junior Ambassador for 2019 because of her detailed approach to her posts and presence in the mummy blogging community. Hollie will be an asset to Epaderm – we look forward to working with her to share more experiences with our Epaderm community!” – Toby Cobbledick, Mölnlycke, manufacturers of Epaderm
“We chose Hollie as our ambassador as we loved her passion for Epaderm and how she weaves it into her everyday life – she even has a bedtime song she sings with her child! We’re excited to work with Hollie this year and can’t wait to hear the song!” – Karen Pett, dermatology nurse and competition judge
It’s actually a really amazing thing to do and I feel super proud that hopefully, by sharing our journey we can help others with theirs. Eczema is a funny thing. It’s mainly on Cameo’s legs with patches on his arms. It varies from day to day and sometimes his legs can be covered for a week and other times its just patches.
We’re still working on what triggers the really bad moments. As he’s only two and a half we’re still looking at it season by season. Factor by factor. But one thing has remained consistent since we stopped using steroid creams on a regular basis, and that’s Epaderm. Without fail, it goes on every day. No matter where we are or what else is happening. That cream goes on his legs. Epaderm Junior is free from fragrance, colouring and SLS, making it suitable for children’s delicate skin. Epaderm Junior is the newest addition to the highly effective Epaderm family, specially developed by dermatologists and it’s recommended by doctors too.
One of the hardest things, when your kid has eczema, is seeing them frustrated or upset because of it. Several times Cameo has refused to walk (or walked like a crab) to stop it stinging or itching. If I could take it away and have it myself I would, but I know I’m doing the best I can.
We’ll be sharing our Epaderm and eczema journey with you over the next 12 months. The ups and downs and you might even get to see the bedtime song that we sing! Overall, I want you to know you’re not alone with this whole parenting stuff. It’s hard going and I hope by sharing the products I trust and believe in, like Epaderm, then it might make your life and decision a tiny bit easier.
