I recently wrote a review of the HiPP Organic baby food jar selection that are suitable for stage 2 and upwards. It was perfect for us as that’s exactly where we are at with weaning. But this review is stepping back a little. We’ll be letting you know our thoughts on the HiPP Organic selection of the new, delicious ‘Pure Vegetable’ jars. They are suitable for stage 1 of weaning BUT don’t let that fool you. Although they are aimed at babies 4+ months. You can use these jars through out the whole of the weaning process. They are smooth purees made from organic fruit and vegetables. Some of the 4+ jars have a single vegetable to help your little one get used to savoury tastes. These includ Pure White Carrot, Pure Parsnip and Pure Pea The pure white carrot was a new one for us too – It’s really quite exciting!
We’ve tried a few now but one of Baby C’s favorites is the buttered vegetables. It’s great because you know what’s in it. There’s no added anything! The HiPP Organic stage 1 jars are made with the finest organic ingredients and that makes me feel like I’m doing something right as a new mum. I can tell baby C enjoyed thee jars, especially the buttered vegetables because of a couple of reasons. Firstly, he opens his mouth super wide and doesn’t get distracted. Always a sign he is loving his meal. Secodly, he tried to grab the jar. He does this if he literally wants to eat it all at once because it’s yummy. Always a good sign.
Being the inquisitive person I am, I wondered what the jars actualy tasted like. So while Baby C was munching through a mouthful, I tired it myself. As you can see, he wasn’t best pleased and tried to grab the jar back! In all honeslty it tasted like carrot and swede mash to me. Quite mild because there isn’t the seasoning that I’d put in my own. But it genuinely tasted really fresh and just like I would have expected. It was smooth but not like a paste, I could tell it was actually made out of fresh vegetables. The thing is, if I’m happy to eat it, then I’m happy for my baby to eat it. I’d happily pop this on my own Sunday dinner!
Just like I mentioned in my previous review, the HiPP jars have a wider opening which makes it easier to mix the food around if you’re feeding straight from the jar. It also makes them a lot more reusable. Glass jars can be turned into so may pretty things. With Christmas coming up, it’s time to make some home made snow globes.
