There come’s a time with any little one (I’m sure!) where they want to be grown up and sit at the table to eat their food. When this time came for us, both boys acted exactly the same. They tried to climb out of their high chairs, wanted to climb on big chairs (and quickly fall off again) and ultimately both become mega strops if they were forced to sit somewhere they didn’t want to! With Cameo, we tried so many things. From a toddler table and chair (fail) to letting him sit on the floor and eat (fail). Eventually, he was big enough to just sit on a normal chair and eat at the table. Marlo loved his high chair but overnight hated it. Well, he hated anything that wasn’t a big boy chair. But he’s still only 14 months and will just fall off! That’s when I knew we had to find a solution. That’s where the travel booster seat from Nuby came in.

We’re big fans of Nuby in our household. They’re a brand we love and trust and have used since we first had Cameo almost 3 years ago. When I spotted this booster seat I knew it was for us. It’s basically a lightweight booster seat that EASILY straps to pretty much any chair. It clips underneath the chair and behind the chair to keep it in place. It means Marlo can sit at the table, on a big boy chair and is much happier. It also takes up no space at all so I feel like we have our dining area back.

It’s a super light foam cushion with waterproof fabric that can be easily wiped up. It takes 30 seconds to assemble and remove so you can take it anywhere. It folds up into a bag which is nice and handy. It’s just so handy and has solved our issue. I also feel like it’s really safe, Marlo leans to the side or tries to reach food he has dropped and the straps keep him in securely. Because of the design he can’t climb out and seems really comfortable. The only thing to mention is that if your chair is quite high, they can push their hands agains the table and tilt the chair backwards. One way of preventing this is to make sure they’re tucked right under the table. Marlo hasn’t been able to get enough leverage to push back since we started doing this.

It’s super handy for when you eat out too. It gets rid of the stress of asking for a high chair, if there will be any available, finding the space for one… just take this with you and it makes life SO much easier.

It’s such a handy product and I wish it was around when Cameo was at this stage. My niece has one too now and it’s something I’d 100% recommend. I love how Nuby spots a problem and create a solution! Just for reference, the booster seat is designed for children able to sit unaided from 6 months up to 36 months or maximum weight of 15kg / 33.1lbs. I wouldn’t put Cameo in it, because he doesn’t need it now but Marlo is definitely going to be using it for the foreseeable future.
