Well hello there! This is post numero uno of ‘Shop Your Stash’ a blogging challenge I created to take a little pressure off blogging. You can find out more here in a little introductory post. Basically, This is all about finding a gem in what you already own and creating a blog post on it. It doesn’t have to be a new item or the latest product. Literally… go shopping in your own home!
I think this will give me a chance to get reviewing some of the products I’ve had sitting around for quite a while but never got a chance to review when they were in the ‘spotlight’ but this means my usage is more substantial and I can give a longer term opinion.
So I’ve wanted to tell you about this product for AGES. It’s the Beauty Protector – Protect and Detangle Spray. I’ve had it for around 6 months now and originally received a sample of it. I’m not swayed often but I actually went and bought the full size bottle for £15.00 because it’s not part of my routine EVERY time I wash my hair.
I have fine hair but lots of it and it get’s itself into a birds nest of a state and is almost impossible to brush when it’s wet. I pile on conditioner, have about 5 tangle teezers and I’ve tried every spray going. The OTHER issue I have is that some detangling protects are just too heavy for my fine hair and make it limp before it’s even seen daylight.
This protect an detangle spray is just AMAZING. Spray onto damp hair and style as normal. It’s a light spray, little heavier then a mist and has the most gorgeous fragrance. I think it’s almost a coco butter / vanilla type fragrance which is just mmmmmm! It’s got me lots of ‘Your hair smells nice’ comments at work which is always a good sign.
It’s a clear spray and is really light which is funny because if you peak inside the bottle its actually more of a cream. It makes a massive difference to my hair. My brush seems to glide through much easier and the really knotty bits are not as much of a task.
Birds Nest To Silky Smooth
If you take a look at the pictures it gives you an idea of how knotty my hair gets. I cant even pull my fingers through. If I don’t use the protect and detangle it can easily take me up to 45 minutes to brush my hair and gets the knots out little by little. There’s a lot of ouches, swear words and aching arms involved; even with a tangle teezer. With this spray, it’s easily a 10-15 minute job maximum. It seriously makes a massive difference.
ALSO, it isn’t just a detangling king. Oh no! This bad boy has more uses then that! It’s This vegan, paraben- and sulfate-free. It reduces frizz as well as adds shine. It also protects against heat, protects against UV rays and is friendly for coloured hair. I kid you not, this is a must have item.
The only downside is that it’s exclusive to Birchbox. You don’t have to be a subscriber. You can just go and buy it off their website. . Another thing, the bottle is £15.00 for a large 236ml. I’ve easily had it 6 months and it’s not even half gone. You definitely get your moneys worth. I’m usually a brand tart but this has my heart and my hair in it’s hands. Im’ so pleased I finally got around to telling you about it!
