There’s something about baby clothes that are incredibly cute. To be honest, it’s probably because they’re just so tiny. What makes them even cuter is when they’re homemade. I’m so lucky that my mum is a super talented knitter. I’m not just talking socks and scarves. I’m talking full-on jumpers, cardigans and blankets. It’s pretty epic, watching her create something with her own hands and talent. It’s even lovelier when she knits baby clothes. We still have the first ever cardigan that she knitted Cameo and we’ll keep it in his memory box. Now, she’s knitted Marlos’ first cardigan too and it’s the cutest thing EVER.
We were sent some yarn from Love Knitting to try out and along with using one of their free knitting patterns, my mum made a lovely little set. We used Paintbox Yarns Baby DK in stormy grey. It’s super soft and feels like great quality. My mums said it was easy to knit with and really smooth. This yarn is suitable for babies as it’s gentle on their skin and machine washable. It’s available in 25 colours so there’s something for every design!
I think it’s just so nice to have something that’s made with love. Not only is it practical, because he can actually wear it. But it’s sentimental too! My mum thinks pretty highly of the wool and already plans on grabbing herself some more. In her own words, she says “I loved it. It was so soft and easy to knit with. Really good quality. It knitted to the right tension where lot’s of other wools don’t”.
