You already know I’m a mum of two boys, they’re not twins, but are only 18 months apart. So guess what? I’m that mum that dresses them the same as much as I can. Why? Because it’s cute! It’s that simply really. It doesn’t make life easier, it doesn’t really make a difference to them, but I just think they look bloomin’ cute. I don’t know how much longer I’ll get away with it, but I know for sure that I’ll do it for as long as I can!

With Mother’s Day fast approaching, I think it’s nice to make the effort to show the mum in your life what they mean to you. Plus, if you’re a mama, be kind to yourself and treat yourself too! Mum’s are superheroes (Matalan really got these kids t-shirts spot on and they’re the perfect tops for your little ones to wear on Mother’s Day ) and here are 5 reasons why.

The Magic Kiss – we all know that a kiss from mummy makes everything better. From a bruised knee to a poorly head. One kiss from mummy and it all seems so much better. How? It’s called mummy magic.

Home Cooking – It doesn’t matter how old you get, they’re will be a couple of dishes that no one can cook better than your mum. The one that runs in my family is spaghetti bolognese. Honestly, no restaurant has beat my mums spag bol and so far it’s the one dinner that is guaranteed to get the boys clearing their plates.

Multi-Tasking Wizard

Who else do you know that can write an email, read a story and have eyes in the back of their head at the same time? No one. How do mums do it? It’s superhero wizardry.

The Look

All mums have the ‘look’. With one look you know if they’re angry or if you’ve got the go ahead to grab that biscuit out of the cupboard. It’s so funny because Cameo is 3 now and fully grasps my look. Sometimes he looks at me because he thinks he’s going to get told off, and then I’ll smile and he’ll laugh. It’s like a secret language between us!

All Change

When you become a mum, life changes more than I can ever explain. Maybe it’s different for everyone, but I feel like I had a new life overnight. The transition to being a mum wasn’t an easy one, but it’s definitely one I’d never change. It’s a whole new adventure story where I really am the superhero looking after my own little kingdom.
