You might have seen my recent post about Venosure luxe breast balm (if not feel free to go have a read!), well the lovely people at Venosure have added some lovely new products to their range. These gorgeous baby changing mats. I’m now 11 weeks into being a first time mum and let me tell you something. The changing mat is in the top 5 of the list marked ‘baby products that are overused and underestimated’. Seriously. We bought a rather cheap changing mat before Baby C was born thinking it’s just a mat right? Surely they’re all the same. WRONG! Ok, so there’s a difference in size, softness, durability and wear. (Of course, some look better than others too). We soon realised that actually, we probably need a new changing mat pretty quickly, so along came this one. The Venosure ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ changing mat.
Theres so many reasons why I’m impressed with this mat. Firstly, how gorgeous is the design? I actually put this quote on my wall before Baby C was born as you can see in the picture. So the fact the changing mat says the same thing, well a match made in heaven. (or the stars… sorry I couldn’t help it). It’s really nice to have little quotes around like this. They also do a ‘I love you to the moon and back‘ changing mat as well as a ‘You are loved little one‘. So on the appearance front, they are really REALLY nice. Super stylish, bright and modern. The second thing that impressed me was the size. They are 75 x 46 x 10 cm and larger than the previous mat I had. It’s also thicker so obviously more comfortable for Baby C. I mean, he spends so much of his life right now getting his nappy changed he needs to be comfortable! Because of it’s thickness it also doesn’t lose it’s shape. It’s pretty sturdy so if you were going away you could take it with you without worrying it would be all folded and damaged by the time you got there.
In terms of cleaning, it’s a changing mat so completely wipeable. We’ve used it for a few weeks now with no signs of wear and the design isn’t coming off which is something I did wonder about. I have to say, as far as changing mats go these are some of the nicest I’ve come across. Nappy changing isn’t the best part of parenthood (I’m sure you’ll agree) but little things like this make it a tiny bit better and when it’s good quality, well that makes life a whole lot easier too.
