We all need a bit of time out occasionally. A real bit of relaxation to help us unwind, destress and just forget about the daily stresses and strains. This is exactly what I needed, especially as it was heading toward the end of the school summer holidays! I took a short trip to The Spa at Breedon Priory for a little bit of luxury escapism, and that’s exactly what I got.

Relax and Escape Afternoon

My afternoon spa escape was from 1.30 pm – 5.30 pm and included full use of the beautiful spa facilities. I went with my mum and after parking for free just across the road, we were greeted with a zingy healthy shot which tasted amazing. We were given our itinery and then one of the super helpful team members took us on a spa tour, so we felt comfortable with our surroundings.

As our treatments were at 1.45 pm, we opted to head to the changing rooms and get ready. With free lockers, use of showers, lots of towels, robes and flip flops, everything we needed was on hand. Including GHD hair dryers and straighteners. I was over the moon to find out that they offered more than a standard-sized robe, and mine fit perfectly.

We then went upstairs and relaxed in a very calm and mellow room before we were greeted by our therapists.

Treatments

As for treatments, the Spa at Breedon Priory has a huge offering. From manicures to facials to signature treatments. I opted for the exceptional TEMPLE SPA BREEDON PRIORY SIGNATURE SOUL RETREAT. This included a Foot Ritual, Back Massage, Face Mask & Scalp Massage. It was incredible. Natalie my beauty therapist was incredibly friendly and I felt like I had known her for years! She made me feel really comfortable and at ease. The entire experience made me feel as though I’d totally zoned out and I could feel the tension leave me while I was there. It was 60 minutes of pure heaven. 100% recommend it.

Afternoon Tea

Included in our spa escape afternoon was lovely afternoon tea. In a fresh and modern restaurant-style area, we sat next to wall-length windows looking out over the stunning pools and gardens. Tea was served and there was so much to get through we ended up taking some home. It was so good we couldn’t leave it behind. Savoury and sweet were all well balanced and it was all incredibly fresh and tasty. Far beyond our expectations of a basic afternoon tea.

Wellbeing Suite

We didn’t actually spend much time here as the pool really got out attention (more about this later) but next time I go, I’ll really make the most of it. From experience showers to thermal cabins, there’s everything you need to unwind and refresh. It’s like a full sensory experience!

But for me, the pools were the jewel in the Spa at Breedon Priory crown. The outdoor infinity edge relaxation pool was like walking into a warm blanket. It was heavenly with gentle underwater hydro jets to help you relax while taking in the view of the tranquillity gardens. Then the Vitality pool with its sheer volume of jets meant that and waterfalls meant that the everyday stresses and strains of life were quickly forgotten about.

On a summer’s day, you could easily be fooled into thinking you are abroad in an all-inclusive resort or in winter, the warm pools and cold air will be absolutely exhilarating for the senses.

Overall the experience was brilliant. I’ll be back very, very soon. The customer service was brilliant, everything was catered for and nothing was too much trouble. With lots of little touches that really add that luxury feel, it’s a must-have for anyone wanting some time out from the busy day-to-day routine.
