With so much to do in London, it is the perfect destination to visit with your family. From musicals to museums, you will be spoilt for choice with what to do! If you are planning a day out in London with your kids then here are some things that you should check out.

Getting there
First of all, you need to plan how you will get to the city. One of the easiest ways, especially when travelling with a group is to look for trains to London Kings Cross station. Due to being accessible from pretty much anywhere in the UK, it will make your trip run much more smoothly if you can just hop on the train and relax until you reach your destination.
Many trains also allow those under 5’s to travel free and have half-price tickets for those under 15 so train travel can be a cost-effective option as well.
Experience the view from the London Eye
Visiting the London Eye is an obvious one, especially if travelling with kids. You will get to experience an amazing view of London, especially if you plan your visit as the sun is setting.
As Europe’s tallest Ferris wheel, the kids are sure to love it and there is also a short 4D movie included with your ticket. The London Eye is also one of the most popular attractions in London so, if you can afford it, fast-track tickets are definitely worth a buy to avoid the 3-hour queues!
Visit a museum
With over 192 museums in London and almost 900 art galleries, you are sure to find something that will interest you all as a family.
The Natural History Museum is a firm favourite among families with plenty to keep the kids entertained due to the inclusion of the interactive nature of many of the exhibits. Each year the museum features new temporary exhibitions as well as regular favourites like ‘Sensational Butterflies’.
The Science Museum is also a great choice if visiting with little ones. The museum has plenty of games, simulators and interactive exhibits which is great to get the kids involved. In the Launchpad, there are 50 hands-on exhibits and experiments where kids can even make a rainbow! There is also an incredible 3D cinema showing scientific films, allowing you to be submerged in the ocean or surrounded by space.
Go and see a family-friendly musical
If you take a trip to London, a visit to a musical is a must, whether you are travelling with kids or not! If you are with the whole family, it is best to check online which musicals are family-friendly, as some theatres will have age restrictions. Some family favourites are Matilda, The Lion King and Wicked.
