I’m still relatively new to Nottingham so I’m on the lookout for places to eat and things to do. So when I was asked to try out the Cosmo Nottingham restaurant, I was pretty chuffed to say the least. Plus, it would give me and my soon to be husband a reason to have a date night! Woop!
Cosmo is the ultimate world buffet restaurant. With over 150 dishes and eight live cooking stations, there’s something for everyone! It’s the perfect place to take a group of people because no matter how fussy someone is, they’ll be something for them. The restaurant is split into sections where each world food is on offer. You basically just walk around with your plate and choose whatever you want and how much you want! (Literally, the dream!)
The ‘menu’ is split up into World of Asia, which is where you’ll find the Cantonese, Sichuan and Fujian dishes to name a few – I was slightly obsessed with the sweet & sour chicken at this section! Then there’s the Teppanyaki station where the chef will freshly cook salmon, scallops, steak or prawn for you on an iron griddle. Chiino took advantage of the steak at this station! Then there’s the super popular House of Spice section where you’ll find all the South-East Asian delights. Currys, side dishes (Hello Saag Aloo!) and all the pickles and chutneys you’d want. It’s an Indian banquet which you can just keep helping yourself too!
Cosmo Nottingham even has their own wood fire oven where you can see the pizzas being made and cooked. In the continental section, you’ll also find pasta dishes, veggie options and some basics such as chips and nuggets for the kids. The Tasting Kitchen menu is probably the most diverse. You can make your own burgers, grab some Caribbean stew or add a jacket potato with chilli to your plate. I wasn’t joking when I said there’s something for everyone! There’s also a carvery section of the menu. On our trip to Cosmo Nottingham, there was Turkey and Gammon on offer along with all the sides such as roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and of course gravy.
Remember, what’s epic about Cosmo is that you can have any of these dishes at any time. So you can have roast potatoes with sweet and sour chicken and a veggie pizza. Literally, whatever your taste buds fancy, you can go ahead and help yourself to it!
As for dessert, well it’s a sweet lovers delight! Cosmo had everything from apple crumble to mini ‘magnumesque’ ice creams. Cupcakes to fruit and a chocolate fountain just to add the cherry on top! There really is just SO much to choose from! I also want to add that the soft drinks are bottomless which is pretty epic and the non-alcoholic cocktails are SUPER yummy!
The staff are also really lovely at the Cosmo Nottingham branch. They’re happy to answer any questions and replace plates super quickly. The restaurant has plenty of space too and the seating is really comfortable. We didn’t have to wait long for our drinks and there were lot’s of staff around to answer any questions. The entire décor actually makes Cosmo look like a full table serviced restaurant. It’s a gorgeous restaurant and a really chilled environment. They have baby changing facilities and free wifi – always worth a mention!
It’s also worth checking out the offers on their website because at the moment students get 10% off and children eat for £1 on Tuesdays. Honestly, it’s such a bargain and such a lovely place to eat!
Cosmo Nottingham is based in the city centre around lots of transport links and car parks. So there’s no concern with the location at all. It’s really easy to get to. I’d definitely advise booking a table as I can imagine they get super busy. Especially on the weekends! I won’t put the price on this blog – because these are obviously subject to change but it’s so affordable for the amount of food and the generous options available. It’s a real party winner and you’ll leave already planning your next trip!
