Last week I had a little stroll down Hoxton Street Market in East London on the hunt for the The London Marshmallow Company. Hearing good things I was high with anticipation and I was not disappointed!
Ross and Amy started their Marshmallow venture earlier this year after practising on family & friends, it’s really nice to know that young businesses are making ground and you have to respect anyone who gets off their rear, uses their skills and imagination to do something exciting.
I did feel sorry for Ross & Amy standing in the chilly wind but I can understand why they do it. Their Marshmallows are amazing! Stand to one side cupcakes, there’s a newbie in town!
Soft, fluffy squares of joy I was kindly given some to sample as I sipped on their thick and creamy hot chocolate. The London Marshmallow Company attempt to source as much as possible from local suppliers and they use natural real fruit and natural flavourings. The taste is pretty amazing. The mallows are light, softly sweet and the fresh fruity tastes really come through. Also the suares are pretty massive, not that you’d want to share!
Something really fun about these is that each Marshmallow is named with a London theme. You have ‘The Angel’ which is Madagascan Vanilla, ‘The Spitalfields’ which is Sicilian Lemon to name a couple. But my two faves has to be ‘The Kensington’ French Almonds & Sour Cherry with toasted flaked almonds on top. This was fit for a Queen. My other favourite was ‘The Stokey’ yummy peanut butter with Belgium milk chocolate and chopped peanuts. Yes please! I know your mouth is watering.
Not only are the mallows that Ross & Amy make delicious and pretty, but most of them are gluten & fat free.
Amy & Ross also make bespoke orders for things like, weddings, parties, press packs etc and can create made to order gifts. As Christmas is coming up, this could be the unique present you’re looking for. Especially if you’re fed up of the usual tin of chocolates every year.
