I’m already addicted to my PU collar coat which I wore here, but to be honest, it’s still jacket weather and I don’t want to wear my lovely coat to pieces before it’s had a chance to shine in the chilly sun. So I’ve been on the hunt a found a few juicy Autumn jackets which have got my mouth watering.
Juicy Autumn Jackets
1. Boucle Biker Style Jacket – Simply Be – I love the colours in this and I can imagine wearing it with dresses, jeans, chinos… everything!
2. Black Knitted Biker Jacket – Live Unlimited @ Evans – This looks quite cosy and I love the whole slanted zip thing.
3. Mink Waterfull PU Sleeve Jacket – Evans – It’s official I am getting a little obsessed with PU. It just makes me feel like a diva! I seriously love this jacket. Black jeans and ankle boots. Sorted.
4. PU Zip Detail Jacket – Lovedrobe @ Simply Be – I wouldn’t be inclined to do this jacket up otherwise I might look like I’m being retained! I love the edgy feel though.
5. Purple & Blue Paisley Tapestry Jacket – New Look Inspire – I feel the same about this as I do the Simply Be one. I love the colours. It’s a little quirky and can jazz up any outfit.
6. Blazer In Wallpaper Print – ASOS Curve – I need a bit of colour in my life and this blue basically makes my day.
I love them all, I could quite happily have them all in my wardrobe and wear one a day. Leaving day 7 for my lovely coat!
What do you think? Have you got an Autumn Jacket I should add to my wishlist?
Another month and another fab Birchbox. I am closer to deciding on which beauty boxes I should keep my subscriptions with and I have to say, Birchbox isn’t going anywhere right now!
So my lovely box arrived today, my colour theme was yellow. The usual little drawstring bag that homes my little items is there as usually with yellow writing today. I think I’ve had pink, green and blue so far!
Octobers Birchbox is about ‘Beauty Buzz’. It’s about showing us the brands and samples which are causing a storm in the celeb and beauty world. Thank you for thinking of us Birchbox!
As usual, Birchbox is £10.00 plus £2.95 p&p, this is October’s edition.
I am quite surprised that I have a nice variety of items which I WILL use. Laura Mercier was a lovely little surprise. Tinted moisturiser is always great to test out because I find them hit or miss to be honest. I’m hoping this is a hit.
The Akane mask cocoon nocturne is the item which interests me the most. I’ve never heard of it and the application is a bit new. You apply a thin layer before bed and rinse off when you wake up. Talk about beauty sleep! Can’t wait to try this.
My favourite item from the October Birchbox has to be the Stainiac by theBalm Cosmetic Company… Cool name huh? It’s a 2 in 1 lip and cheek stain which is always handy to have in your bag. Birchbox even provided us a little keepsake tutorial card to show us how to create the perfect blush look.
Along with these three key items, I also received Nipple balm for lips (yes it’s for dry lips and started as a nipple cream!), KMS Silk Sheen hair styling cream with heat protection, sachets of Egyptian magic all-purpose body cream and a sample of Chia Shots which is like a seed. Apparently it can be eaten with things like yogurt, fruit, and porridge. Otherwise known a super food I will give this a go!
So that my Birchbox. I will report back as and when I use the products but overall I am VERY happy with the contents this month. A complete surprise and no false promises. As usual they sent a little menu card telling me what each product is and how to use it. This saves me so much time and takes the hard work out of it for me.
As a heads up, they have said that the November edition is going to include a second Laura Mercier product! If you want to get in there and order yours you can do it here – Birchbox

This month the lovely people at Simply Be challenged me to pick one item from their range and show you guys 5 different ways to wear it! It’s all about highlighting how you can save money by having one key piece of clothing. You recycle the item by mixing it up with what you already have so you feel great, look good and watch the pennies!
I love a challenge!
Autumn is my favourite season and when I really lust after pretty dresses. I love to mix them up with boyfriend cardigans, scarves and boots. So for my 1 key item from Simply Be I decided on this gorgeous Cut out print dress.
It’s fitted at the waist and flares out over the hips. This is SUCH a flattering cut and really works for me as I like to believe a have a voluptuous hour glass figure. (Whether I actually DO is a different story!) What also drew me to this dress is the mouth-watering print. It’s floral but has those pretty Autumn colours (but lighter ones which work in summer too!) pinks, purples and a little burgundy. To add a little uniqueness, this dress has 2 cut out panels on the chest area. This is brilliant because it draws attention upwards towards the neckline. Super flattering for the bustier lady and a quirky little touch.
So let’s get on with the challenge!
1. When At Work
This is the option that I would wear to work. Its smart but casual. The boyfriend cardigan and flat black shoes keeps the outfit toned down and lets the dress do the talking.
2. Pretty Party
Parrrrrtyyyy! This is where the dress can just shine! With some burgandy heels to matcher the warmer shades of the dress and some matching feather earrings it’s a good to go party dress. Christmas, wedding or both! I added a skinny waist belt to emphasize how the dress draws in at the waist creating a flattering shape. The exposed zip at the back adds that touch of style.
3. Chilled Out Casual
This is my simple casual look. With a denim shirt, satchel bag and nude flats. You could wear this in the summer for a festival look or pop on some tights and keep it going for Autumn. It’s my get up and go go go option.
4. Cosy Autumn
This green lightweight jumper is my best cosy friend. Just popping it on top of the dress makes it just look like a skirt & jumper combo. Adding my brown ankle buckle boots with a low stacked heel adds a touch of edginess. As with all the styles you can add tights to keep warm and add more colour.
5. Warm Winter
I’m not a fan of the cold but when you have a coat like this, I almost welcome it. The coat and long length patent boots are also from Simply Be and show that I can wear a dress and still keep warm! Thick waffle tights and a clashing print scarf make the outfit warm and wearable, showing you can do winter floral! The patent boots and PU trimmed coat toughen it up a bit. I can’t wait to wear this when the temperature drops.
There we go… Challenge completed! I LOVE this dress and I am so pleased that it doesn’t have to be just be worn alone. I now have 5 new looks from one dress!
This is my October Simply Be Thrifty 5 way, I suggest you head on over to their website and choose your own key item. 🙂
1 dress, 5 ways.
What do you think? How would you style the dress?
The lovely Vicky over at The Curved Opinion set up this challenge last month and this is my first time at taking part!
This challenge is about accepting the times when no matter how much effort we put in, our reflection is not what we envisioned. ‘I Feel Good’ is about celebrating the times when you look in the mirror, with no pre-planning and think to yourself ”I look good today”.
So here I am…
This is me straight out of the shower, hair up in a towel, fresh faced, with NO make-up at all. so ignoring the millions of freckled and moles, the dark circles, shiny bits and an occasional wonky eye…. I feel good! I like the fresh faced look and my eyebrows look pretty darn slick.
Check out the other gorgeous ladies who feel good today!
