Did you miss Random Acts of Kindness Day on Friday 17th February? Well I didn’t! (Just about) I know some people think these things are just a way of businesses to make money (It probably has some aspect to it) BUT I still think things like this and Valentine’s Day (as another example) just give us a little reminder to appreciate those around us. Yes, yes, yes… you should appreciate them every day but sometimes life gets so busy, it’s easy to get wrapped up in the daily routine. Sometimes you forget about the partner that washes up every day or you forget how your friend checks in on you unconditionally. So if I’m honest, I only realised it was Random Acts of Kindness Day a couple of days before thanks to Contact Numbers UK and their #KindnessDayChallenge. Then, all of a sudden it was EVERYWHERE!
So Contact Numbers UK decided they wanted to help me inject some kindness back into the world and I participated in their #KindnessDayChallenge. Thanks to them, I managed to get a special gift delivered next day by Amazon Prime for one of my lovely friends who I wanted to show my appreciation too. (So their next day delivery really is next day!) The Amazon Prime tagline is “Millions of ways to save the day, delivered in one day” which is pretty true! So I gave this #GirlBoss book to one of my lovely friends Emma who has really been there for me. I wanted to give her something that would give her a little motivation and just to say thank you. She really is a #Girlboss in her own right so it was perfect. (I actually want one myself)
I have to say I’m always impressed by next day delivery. I mean this book was ordered around 5pm and was in my hands by midday the next day! That’s pretty impressive. It can take me 2 hours to get to work sometimes and that only a few miles away! So to get a book to me in less than 24 hours, well, that’s pretty good to be fair. So next year hopefully I’ll remember Random Acts of Kindness Day as it’s nice to know people can be selfless and genuinely kind even if it takes a little reminder for them to act on it.
