Last week NEXT previewed their Spring/Summer 2014 range and I was lucky enough to sneak a peak at the gorgeous collection on their super impressive press day.
The key elements that NEXT have focused on are florals, sports lux and fondant tones. It’s incredibly feminine with a few edgy geo prints thrown in.
Here are a few of my faves and the key items which are going to me on my wish list as soon as they hit the stores.
The Kraftwork Collection has a colour palette of blacks, whites and stunning ochres which will look gorgeous in the sunshine. It’s very simple styling with sheer panels and light weight floral print blouses.
Continuing with the floral theme, the New Wave collection includes classic shift dresses and biker jackets in all kinds of textures. I love the tweed detail and how it looks edgy but incredibly transitional.
The bright whites are extremely fresh when matched against the strong oceanic palette and Geo prints in the Delft story. Long line jackets look sleek and simple while the bold prints shout out the detail.
My favourite of the NEXT SS2014 range has to be the Demi Couture and Tea Rose story. It’s the feminine pinks with cute bow and organza detailing. Mixed with the florals, embellished pieces and sheer blouses the fondant tones just whisper fresh spring. They also have a touch of sports lux with slouchy logan t shirts and monochrome accents. I love all the different textures that NEXT have put into their SS2014 creations.
The one thing that really made my mouth water was the shoes. NEXT have some great pieces for their 2014 ranges. Especially focusing on brogues and carrying on the laser cut out shoe trend. The main shoe colour for 2014 is nude with jewellery pinching in with ice cream tones for a yummy spring feel.
It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t give a quick mention the the NEXT SS2014 Home Preview. As always, the items are bold and beautiful. My eyes couldn’t draw themselves away from the Poetry Range. Antique effect scatter frames, wicker hearts, blurred floral and embellishments. It’s a soft dream of mauve, minks and metallics. I could just change the decor in my flat right this very moment!
It was a a well planned preview with lovely drinks and canapes floating around. NEXT really know how to do things in style and their Spring / Summer 2014 collection has not let me down. I’m really excited about the feminine and romantic blouses and the touches of fondant pink. The textures are really soft and gorgeous.
Roll on 2014!
