I’ll be on maternity leave VERY soon which means I (hopefully) will have a bit of time to sort out my own space. We have a room which is half nursery, half random storage space and I’d love to turn the ‘random storage’ section into a little home office. Nothing huge, just a nice space for me to work at while the new member of the family takes his naps. Obviously I’m making this sound oh so easy… but you never know, it could go relatively smoothly. (Pinch me now!) Well, regardless, I’ve started to get some ideas together for my ideas small home office space.
1. First up is one of the key elements of an office, the desk! I’ve had a look at office desks from Furtniture at Work and I really like something along the lines of this simple, sleek and fresh desk. Nothing too big or in the way and something to fit nicely against the wall. It also fits nicely with the baby furniture on the other half of the room!
2. Some simple storage, very simple just to pop my books and blog related items on. This shelving unit is relatively small and takes up very little space. Plus it gives a nice little display area.
3. & 6. They say the most important part of the office is the chair. Being pregnant I know how true this is right now! I’ve had to change my office chair numerous times and if I come in and the chair has been altered I know straight away. I’ve spent a good 15 minutes before sitting on every chair in the office until I found ‘the one’ so it’s important I have ‘the one‘ for my home office. These two options are super stylish but I know there’s a lot to getting the right chair so it’s comfortable and safe.
4. & 5. It wouldn’t be MY little office space if it didn’t have something a little pretty in it. That’s just the way it is! I love the gold desk tidy, once again just keeping it simply and fresh. Plus, there’s something about succulent plants in little white pots that just scream organised, tidy and totally on trend. Don’t you think?
That’s my home office wishlist started, now to get on and organise the rest of the room so I can get some of this done over the next 12 months!
